Mabanaft expands into the carbon credit business

Mabanaft is expanding its current portfolio of trading activities into the carbon credit business. To position itself strategically in the global carbon market, Mabanaft B.V., its Rotterdam based subsidiary, has hired a highly experienced carbon team that will start on 1 December 2009. 

The team initially will consist of 3 people all joining Mabanaft from Eneco Energy Trade, a subsidiary of Eneco N.V., the largest independent Dutch utility.

The new carbon team will capitalize on the global activities and network of Mabanaft and the other Marquard & Bahls´ subsidiaries and is expecting major opportunities on a global scale. Mabanaft has a strong plan for further growth in this business line. 

Mabanaft is the trading division of Marquard & Bahls, Hamburg, a leading independent petroleum company, privately owned. The business encompasses international trading and the import and wholesale of petroleum products. Furthermore, the company is active in service stations, heating-oil retail, lubricants, biofuels and bunker services.
